Live space counts
The City of Temecula’s parking sensors report how many free spaces are open right now in the garage and the two largest lots. Counts refresh about once a minute.
Parking questions, answered
Is parking in Old Town really free?
Yes. The Old Town Parking Garage and every public lot on this page are free. A few privately owned lots in the district charge a fee, so look for the public lots and the City signs before you park.
Which lot should I try first?
The Old Town Parking Garage at 28690 Mercedes St has the most spaces (378) and is open around the clock. The Roger Epperson Memorial Lot behind The Stampede is the most central. Check the live counts above before you drive in.
Where can I charge an electric vehicle?
The Old Town Parking Garage has ChargePoint stations on the 3rd floor, and the 6th Street Parking Lot has EVgo and ChargePoint stations. Use the “EV charging available” filter on the map.
Are any lots restricted?
The Senior Center Lot is open to the public evenings and weekends only. The 6th Street Parking Lot closes on Saturdays for the Farmers Market. Spaces along Old Town Front Street have posted time limits, so read the signs on each block.
Is there accessible parking?
Yes. The garage has 7 accessible spaces, the Roger Epperson Memorial Lot has 7, and the 6th Street Parking Lot has 4. Accessible spaces are marked in each lot.
How accurate are the live counts?
They come from the City of Temecula’s parking sensor program. Phase one went live on February 12, 2025 with 89 sensors along Old Town Front Street; phase two added sensors in the garage and the public lots in April 2026. Each tile shows when its last reading arrived. If a lot has not reported in a while, the tile says so rather than guessing.
What about big events?
During large events some lots may be reserved or closed and streets may be rerouted. Check our Events page and the City’s Special Events page before you come, and give yourself extra time.
Is there an app for parking availability?
The City has said public on-street and off-street availability will be viewable in an app once construction and testing are complete. Until then, this page and the official Old Town Temecula app are the quickest way to check.
